Educational Technology Teaching Fellows

The Educational Technology Teaching Fellows (ETTF) at Northwestern University is a collaborative group of like-minded instructors that explores the use of technology to foster enhanced learning.  Faculty from many of Northwestern’s schools and with varying levels of familiarity with educational technology tools meet regularly to explore how new tools or approaches might help them enhance their teaching.

Fellows complete a pedagogical experiment with the support of the Northwestern IT Services and Support, Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) team. TLT staff members will collaborate with faculty as they try out innovations in their teaching. Each faculty member or group of faculty will have his or her own dedicated TLT mentor and receive personalized help.

What is involved in being an EdTech fellow? As a fellow, you will:

  • Attend meetings and events where you’ll see experts demonstrate new educational technologies or talk about new classroom teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with other fellows, engaging in meaningful interdisciplinary exchanges.
  • Work on your project, benefiting from one-on-one help from your TLT mentor.
  • Present at the annual TEACHx event at the end of the academic year.
  • Shape the nature of the agenda by suggesting topics you want to know more about.

Interested faculty must complete an application and propose a project, challenge, or experiment in which educational technology or blended or active learning techniques are part of the solution. A brief 10-15 minute web conference interview will be part of the application process.

Applications for the 2019-2020 school year are closed.
